At the IBP Lab of Fraunhofer IBP, researchers together with SHK trade companies specifically investigate individual work steps, components and assembly sequences for heat pump installation.

 

The heat pump is an efficient and future-proof key technology to implement the heating transition and achieve Germany’s climate targets. In the WESPE project, Fraunhofer researchers and partners aimed to make heat pump installation faster, more productive and more efficient, advancing the transformation of the heating sector despite the shortage of skilled labour. Innovative standardised digital tools and practically tested system solutions are set to significantly accelerate retrofitting to heat pumps in the future.
